AmbiNode is a wall-mounted indoor climate sensor from Leapcraft, measuring temperature, humidity, CO2, VOCs, particulate matter, noise and light, sold as a service with a mobile app and a cloud behind it. It launched in the second half of 2017, for offices and schools as well as homes.
I worked on the cross-platform mobile app, and on the backend services that powered it: the ingestion layer and the REST API.

A room's screen shows the current reading as a dial, with daily, weekly and monthly history per sensor. The dashboard lists every room at once, each rated good, average or bad, so a facility manager can see which room needs attention without opening each one.

I also worked on the firmware: device lifecycle management, integration with the cloud ingestion services, and BLE pairing with the mobile app. The unit is 150 × 150 × 23 mm, USB-powered, with a touch pad, status LEDs and a socket for a wired extension sensor.

Nodes report over WiFi, 3G or LoRa through a gateway to Leapcraft's cloud, which calibrates and analyses the readings, runs diagnostics, and feeds both the apps and a building's HVAC or management system.
